Carlo Prato

I am an Associate Professor (without tenure) in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University and, since 2019, a Lavine Scholar.

I received my PhD in Economics from Northwestern University in 2012 and between 2012 and 2016, I was an assistant professor in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

In my research, I study how electoral and legislative institutions affect policy outcomes, and the ability of voters to discipline and select representatives.

I am a co-founder of the Washington PECO, a DC-area conference in political economy.

You will find my publications, my ongoing research, my CV, a short bio, my football allegiance, and something about food. You can reach me at cp2928 [at] columbia [dot] edu.
